FOR AN EVENING OF FUN, FITNESS AND FRIENDSHIP COME AND JOIN US
We meet most Tuesday evenings at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, Grove Road, Millhouses, Sheffield S7 2GY. The hall is open from 7.00 pm and the evening kicks off at 7.30 pm and ends around 10.00 pm with an interval for light refreshments.
Anyone is welcome to come along and join the fun. You do not need any special clothes or shoes to begin with, just wear something comfortable and soft flat, light shoes and you don't have to bring a partner, just your enthusiasm. If you have never done it before, have no worries as we have qualified instructors for those who need it and plenty of dancing for those who don't.

ASCDS FESTIVAL 2018
Saturday, 12th May 2018, was the date of the ASCDS Festival, when teams from all over the East Midlands and South Yorkshire get together to show off their Scottish Country Dance skills. The Dance Class had put together a team and from the team, eight members did a solo dance. The solo team had had extra practice nights to perfect their performance of a dance called "From Leith to Fleet", a combination of two dances, The Water of Leith (Strathspey) and The Water of Fleet (Jig). We did Hugh and Joyce proud with our performance and they both agreed the solo was danced brilliantly.
We are now all looking forward to next year and another challenge.
As we have said before, Scottish Country Dancing is all about having fun, getting fit and meeting new friends. So come along. All you need are soft soled shoes and not even a partner. We hope to see you on Tuesday nights at Holy Trinity Church, Millhouses, 7.30 p.m. where a warm welcome awaits you and also an enjoyable evening of Scottish Country Dancing.

Farewell To Hugh and Joyce Porteous May 19th 2018
With the help of a few well chosen words from our newly installed President Arlene McMaster, and a magnificent chocolate cake baked by our multi-tasking leader, the Society’s dance class paid tribute to their teachers Hugh and Joyce Porteous at their final social dance of the season on 19th May. Hugh and Joyce are retiring and moving to Scotland after classes finish at the end of June.
The Society's Dance Class has said a fond farewell to teacher Hugh Porteous and his wife Joyce, who are retiring and moving to Scotland. Shorter classes continue fortnightly through the summer and plans are well advanced for the new era beginning in September.
