The Bridge Group

 

Bridge players compete in pairs at each other’s houses throughout the year, and their scores count towards the Yates Cup, which is awarded annually.

 

The Bridge Club held their Spring Duplicate event on May 24th. The clear winners were Alice Redhead and Isabel Sandland, with Jean Cameron and Rachel Gunning in second place

Lessons for beginners have also started (see picture) so we are looking forward to increased competition next year.

Bridge Group Get Together

The Bridge Group Had a lovely day welcoming back, Jen Macartney, who moved to New Zealand in 2015. Jen, who is visiting the UK this summer, joined the group for lunch and, for auld lang syne, an afternoon of bridge. Twelve players took part in an individuals' competition which was won by Barbara MacLean.

Yates Cup Winners

 

Barbara MacLean and Fiona Sutherland have retained the Bridge Group's Yates Cup, winning all their matches in this year's competition. The Society's Senior Vice President, Arlene MacMaster announced the results at the Group's AGM on 28th October 2017.
